Single Visit Crowns (CEREC):
This is One Visit Dentistry.
We are pleased to offer this service to our patients. CEREC crowns use a method of creating precisely-designed, color-matched and highly durable porcelain crowns right in our office. This is One Visit Dentistry, right away!
- Single visit convenience – no temporaries
- No uncomfortable impression material or trays
- Beautiful esthetics – color matched porcelain
- Clinically proven – millions of successful restorations worldwide
How is it done?
(1) Digital Impression
Following traditional preparation, your tooth will be coated with a safe, tasteless powder. CEREC then uses a state-of-the-art 3D digital camera to create an optical impression. This digital image replaces the physical impression required in traditional procedures. No more long waits while while a tray of impression material hardens in your mouth.
(2) Computer Aided Design (CAD)
State-of-the art software allows us to design every precise detail of your crown with the accuracy needed to fit your specific clinical needs.
(3) Mill And Place
While you wait, exact design specifications are sent to our on-site milling machine to create your custom crown. About 15 minutes later, your all porcelain, color-matched crown is made. Under very high temperature, your new tooth is made stronger and more life-like as it is stained and glazed. Our last step is to bond it to your natural tooth where it is restored back to its natural form, function and beauty.
Single Appointment Dental Care:
Most crowns require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, you get numb, your tooth prepared, an impression taken and a temporary crown put on your tooth. A couple of weeks later, you make a second appointment, get a second injection, have the temporary removed (if it hasn’t fallen off already), and have a permanent crown put on.
Why go to the dentist a second time when you don’t have to? With CEREC, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish.
Finest Dental Materials:
A CEREC crown isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy. Many years ago, dentists had few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the crown and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. So, your tooth does not crack, and you can go on enjoying your evening. Also, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so we can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a crown that strengthens your tooth.
Worldwide, a CEREC restoration is placed every 20 seconds. With a history of 30 years, this equipment helps dentists place 6.9 million restorations each year! Using metal free materials that are the closest to your natural enamel, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care.
